Keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico. Clear ginger-tinged amber. Foamy off-white head. Aroma has spiced dark fruit loaf with figs and a slight woodiness. Flavourwise it has a bitter core - wood and booze - with a chewy restrained sweetness and spice. Light-medium bodied. Thin to slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation is lazy. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice but could do with more a fruit cake hug from it.

Can. RAD Beer online. Clear coppery amber. Solid lasting lacing pale cream foam. Looks boss. Curious brew this. Nose has sweet brioche and oddly, some green apple and a kind of gooseberry thing going. Taste is super sweet with an earthy leafy bitterness. Drinks fine overall despite being all over the shop. Light bitter finish. Weird. Like no other Bock I’ve ever had and not in a good way.

440ml can as part of a delivery from RAD Beer and drunk at home. Brownish Amber and clear with a quickly dissipating beige head. Toast, caramel, malts in the aroma. Pretty simple but gorgeous. Taste is out of this world. Sweet and bready with toffee and a slight astringency, which paves the way for a more balanced finish. Medium body with crisp but not overbearing carbonation. Impressive.

Can from Against The Grain. Hazy deep amber body with a thick off-white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of toffee and earth. Flavour of caramel and roasted malt. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is tasty - it’s very easy drinking and soft.

Gorgeous glowing pour. Moderate sweetness, toasted caramel, bready malts, toffee, nips of earthy hop, a hint of vanilla. Really well balanced. One of the most drinkable doppelbocks I can recall.
