Draft. A hazy dark Amber Beer with a beige Head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, Port, grapes, Wood, and prunes. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, Wood, sine, and over for fruits, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle. Clear deep amber with a good coat of beige head. Aroma of fruitcake with just little edge of recently decorated room. Lots of dried and macerated fruit, bread. Alcohol and other fumes are fairly prominent. Sticky but perhaps less body than expected - maybe it’s the paint thinner. The hints from aroma become more obvious upon a sip: as well as dried fruit and strong bread there’s quite prominent solvent notes. They mostly go after a time, consistent both with fumey things dissipating but also with knocking back a big glass of barleywine. It does dry out a bit and finish with firm but not excessive bitterness. Wood creeps up. Interesting but not convincing.

Bottle from Etre. Pours dark rusty with off white head. Aroma and taste of earth, harsh bitterness, a bit of caramel, stale and woody. This beer’s a mess. Drain pour.
