This winter, IBUs start accumulating like snow in Colorado with our new Accumulation White IPA . Brewing a white IPA was not only a way to salute the white beauty falling from the sky, but a direct revolt to the longstanding tradition of brewing dark beers for winter and winter seasonal beers. At least that’s what our rebellious brewer Grady Hull likes to claim as he shovels in plenty of new hop varietals and a bit of wheat for a smooth mouthfeel. Stack up a few cases of Accumulation White IPA to keep your long nights glowing blizzard white.
Admin Note: Brewed until 2021. Recipe changed to a hazy IPA in 2022.

New Belgium Accumulation White IPA This Colorado White IPA is a cloudy gold with a subtle hop profile in the bouquet while the taste is earthy herbal, peppery on a dry medium body. An interesting choice for a winter seasonal. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Pours a hazy pale straw colour with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces nicely. Sweet fruity aroma of lemon, grapefruit, orange, kiwi, pineapple and light pine with pale malt hiding in the background. Sweet fruity flavour of wheat malt, yeast, lemon, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, peach, tropical fruit and light pine with a dry, mildly bitter, hoppy finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Refreshing.

A bit nondescript for a White IPA, hitting the right notes for the style but not excelling in any of them. Crisp, bright wheat gives a mellow clove-tinged sweetness, and the fruitiness of the Mosaics are in full effect, providing orange, mango and blueberry with a mild floral undertone. Finishes with a modest bitterness laced with pine and bread. Not a classic but drinkable as hell.
