33cl bottle between five of as at the March 2017, monthly beer exchange in Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury: cheers Simon for this beauty. Liked this a lot. Ruby coloured, creamy off-white head. Boozy brew with a complex aroma and taste, mild sourness with a heavy malt leaning in the both the nose and flavour, wood notes coming through too. Fairly dry mouthfeel, yet almost rich and smooth also: lovely oxymoron of a beer.

Reddish, deep-dark brown beer with a huge, dense, tan-cream coloured head, pretty stable. Very attractive, lightly sourish, near fruity aroma over a herbal, fresh-smelling fragrance with a roasted background. Great! Quite roasted/burnt flavour, really dry. Bit ashy, some tarr but not phenolic. Liquorice without any trace of its sweetness. Creamy, silky smooth, well carbonated, light alcoholheat. Very good I.S.

330ml bottle, vintage 2015, at Vertshuset Skarven. Good looking with its stable, fawn-coloured head, clingy lacing and deep dark body with a rustic shade. Vinous aroma, dark grapes and berries, joined by a chocolate touch. Well blended taste profile of grainy chocolate, oak vanilla, raisin and dark berries. Nicely roasted, warming ending that lingers for quite a while. Full bodied. Enjoying sipper before leaving Tromsø on our way to Harstad by Hurtigruten (Tromsø 26.10.2016).
