Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2017, day one - London. Pours clear very pale yellow with a light, creamy white head. Rich elderflower aroma, lemon peel, green pepper. Light sweet flavour with more hefty elderflower notes, light potpourri, hay. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Finishes lightly dry with more green pepper. Good stuff in a novelty kind of way.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, pale yellow gold. Thick, frothy, lasting, white head. Nose is bright and predictably floral. Crisp malts. Hint of strawberry hop. Taste is well balanced, floral sweet and clean hop bitter. Airy mouthfeel. Fine carbonation. Dry and clean finish. Ashover don’t do bad beer.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Light haze on this paleish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest carbonation. Smooth light sweetish malts. Nice floral mid with that elderflower fruity tang coming through. Little mellow orange peel adds depth. Light elderflower floral finish. Very easy quaffing and easily the best of the handful of elderflower beers at the festival.
