Twelve years, eh? That’s absolutely something worth celebrating!

We’ve delved back into the archives for the recipes of birthday beers gone by, and brought them back up to date. At this point, it wouldn’t be a Monk DIPA without a hefty addition of Citra and Mosaic. But to guarantee saturation at every stage, we’ve also used the Hyperboost® variants from our friends at Yakima Chief. Added during early fermentation and just before packaging ensures saturation at every stage.

To keep this firmly in 2025, we’ve added in recent brewhouse favourites El Dorado and Strata for a load of fresh tangerine and pineapple with a dank bite.

Join us in raising a glass to the last 12 years, and the next!

Can. A mild haze on this slightly yellowish gold beer, small and short lived pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Slightly thin bodied pale malts, a thin creamy sweetness. Light pine into a mild hop itch. Soft savoury skunk. Mild hop fruits underneath, stone fruits and mild citrus. Airy semi dry finish. A decent all rounder but never really got my juices flowing.

Sampled at Craft Beer Helsinki, wanha satama.
Poured light orange in color, dense white head.
Citrusy, tropical fruity and nicely crisp, dank nose. Good stuff.

To celebrate Monk's 12th anniversary in my own way I will be making a first appearance at their new York taproom next month. Clouded golden juice appearance ale, with a small head. Clearly strong, but its citrus notes just about usurp this, certainly in aroma, and very much in taste. A citric bitterness exists here. Not quite feeling its strength, but does feel strong.

440ml can. Murky yellow with a white head. Aroma of ripe mango, passionfruit, pineapple, citrus. Taste is very hoppy, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, grapefruit, mandarin, pithy hop finish. Medium bodied.

Cam shared thanks to Alexander. Murky dull light yellow. Massive dank juicy hops with pineapple and lemon, oats, alcohol. There's some sharp lemon juice and alcohol, but also massive dank modern hops. Solid medium sweet, medium bitter. Solid medium bodied. A bit too harsh and boozy.
