Bottle. Very dark, almost black. No head. Aroma is mild dark roasted grains. Taste is sweet stout with a slight bitter finish.

Beer #16 of 17 for each day of the 2018 Winter Olympics - One for a Country Participating in the Games: #16 - España (Spain) Deep dark brown coloured body, almost pitch black, with a dense, and relatively thick, two to three centimetre tall rich brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, oatmeal, light coffee and a bit of grain - very nice and incredibly aromatic. Medium to Full-bodied; Incredible honey and ridiculously sweet flavours of figs, raisins, prunes, caramel and somehow donuts - very nice and sweet with some of the roasted malt and grains coming through near the end. Aftertaste shows the sweetness by far strongest with a little bit of roasted malt, coffee and cream/lactose notes hitting near the end. Overall, a very nice and incredibly balanced beer that focuses way more on the sweet side of things with honey front and centre along with a good deal of roasted flavours that end with some hazlenuts and also show some coffee, oatmeal and a dose of yeast at the tail end. Great to sample and well worth finding, even in the large format bottle if you can grab this somewhere! I sampled this 75 cL, thick walled glass bottle, purchased from New Beer Distributors on 24-February-2018 for US$8,75 in New York, New York sampled a day later in my hotel room on 25-February-2018.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Tom L. Dark brown to black. Roast, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, caramel, toffee, a bit of licorice, sweetish, slightly sourish, bitterish finish, medium to full-bodied, rounded. Good.

Draft at Catalluna, RBESG 2016. Black with a tan head. Aroma of green coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee. Light heavy sweet. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. [07-07-2016]

7th July 2016: my last beer of a heavy sharing session on day one of the RBESG in Barcelona. This beer was on tap in Catalluna. Full of dark chocolate and coffee flavours, a good final choice whoever made it. Black bodied with a decent beige head, a well made semi-sweet Stout.

Tap at Catalluna. Black with beige head. Sweet coffee, milk chocolate, lots of roasted malts, sweet sugary notes, candy sugar. Quite sweet and light roasted bitter. Medium bodied with slick feel and low carbonation.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown tan head. Nose/taste of mocha biscuit, cookie malt, coffee, earthy chocolate. medium body.

Pours near black with a beige head. Roasted malty aroma with some sweet chocolate notes. The flavor has roasted and lightly burnt malts.
