Bottle. Colored a pale golden... one finger foamy head. Aromas are sweet malt and some light grass. Flavor is fairly similar. Malt body is bold, sweet and grainy. Somehow it seems like this has a higher ABV than 5%, but I’m not sure why... maybe the heavy body with the sweetness???

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma was hearty lager, sweet and almost vegetal. The flavor was sweet and malty with a crisp floral hop presence. The mouthfeel was surprisingly full for this style of beer.

An orange beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of grain and light notes of citrus. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of grain, and German hops, leading to a crisp slightly bitter end. The mouthfeel is somewhat chewy.

Oct 20-12 oz bottle-pours a thick, creamy white head that becomes rocky & laces. Color is clear gold. Aroma is malty grain, showing it’s carbonation. Taste is malty with good carbonation. Light/medium body. stamped-Best before 11/29/05. [One drawback is a chemical/flat aftertaste. 2.6] otherwise a 3.2? Jan 5-rerate/I will rate the current beers, that probably weren’t under harsh conditions-No chemical aftertaste, just a nice crisp finish. Best Before 1/17/06. 3.2

2004 bottle. Pours a bright yellow, with deep gold hues and a foamy white head. Aroma of lightly sour yeast and corn notes, with hints of earthy, hearty hops and rich white bread (unbleached flour). Flavor has hints of bitterness throughout but is mostly full of creamy, honey and dough-like malty sweetness. Good medium to medium full body, but still alot of attenuation making this seem like you are drinking a bigger beer.

12 oz. bottle Beautiful deep gold colored clear beer that holds up a long lasting frothy white head. The aroma is right on the money, mildly sweet malt, with a nice noble hop background. The flavor is crisp, very well balanced with a proper amount of bitterness. Very enjoyable Helles.

This brew pours a bright golden color with an orange tinge to it. Very thin white head and little lacing. The aroma is mostly hops with a touch of fruit and wheat. Crisp body with malt flavor at the forefront. The rest of the flavor was reminiscent of your standard bland Lager, as was the finish which was mildly hoppy. This is a drinkable beer but really not that special.

Orangey golden colour with a decent (1 centimetre in height) slightly off-white head. Smells of a bit of hops, the malt background and a bit of citrus all are major players in the aroma. Medium to Light-Bodied; Subtle flavours, a bit of hops balanced across about the same amount of malt and tied together with some subtle spices and that pertinent citrus. Aftertaste is a bit acidic and a bit clean and refreshed. A pretty good beer, and one of the better for the style! Worth trying if you live in the Mid-Atlantic region and can pick one up! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Total Wine in Chantilly, Virginia.

(Reworded review, but not changed) The U.S. needs more lagers like this (very much in the Munich Helles style). I was amazed I was drinking a lager - thats a bit of an exaggeration but here's why - its so complex! A soft tingling of hops, and gentle ale-fruit flavors were almost noticeable. Maltiness was soft and sweet. In all other respects its a world-class lager: bright golden color and light but lasting head, clean refreshing flavor and beery aroma. An outstanding alternative to any American Standard, if thats what you like.
