Bottle at BrewMaster’s Craft Beer Festival. Pours a clear orange with medium off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is yeast, spice, wheat, citrus. Medium body, yeast, clove, banana, light finish, very nice.

[backlog] 02-09-15 / bottle at home. Gift from family. Well balanced and complex belgian ale. Sweet malt base with floral herbal hops. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 3.5/5

March 2015 bottle drunk 8/13/15.
Bright blonde body shows plentiful carbonation, high clarity and a large white head that steadily recedes to cover.
Very soft herbal notes mix with peppery yeast phenols to provide dryness, while the very light, honey notes from the malts are soft, well-extracted and provide a good maltiness without being too sweet. Esters are reserved and while there’s some light banana, there is indeed the dry nectarine/pear-like quality that is pleasant. No clove or tangy peach and the banana isn’t out of control. No alcohol or flaws.
Sweet pale malts give off pleasantly extracted, yet not-too-sweet-honey and bread dough flavors, in the mouth. Pleasant spicy phenols and touches of hop bitterness provide ample balance but remain delicate and nowhere near overdone/aggressive. Fruity esters remain elegant throughout and the beer goes down nicely. I really like Ommegang’s yeast at cooler temperatures (I assume that’s what’s going on here, because the beer still has enough remaining malt sweetness that it dosent seem like they fermented it really warm, not to mention the lower presence of esters). Though I still may prefer it just a touch more dry, this is really well done. When you’re rating a Belgian ale and you’re continuously using terms like "graceful", "reserved", "soft" and "gentle", that’s a good thing. Or so I think, anyways.

12 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled on 3/4/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden yellow color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, banana, pear, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, banana, pear, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, banana, pear, pepper, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness, balance, and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; with a nice crisp malt/yeast/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good hoppy Belgian pale ale. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, citrus/earthy hops, and pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 12 ouce: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is light citrus, lemon, herbs, a bit of hops. Taste is sweet with a nice bitter element. Belgian ale, but very American given the hoppy profile. Pretty good. I had a good day yesterday.

12 oz. bottle. Not sure if this is a summer only release or if available all year round. If it was a summer only, it has held up well. Straw color with lasting head. Aroma shows the distinctive Ommegang house yeast, fruit and floral hops character. The base of the brew has baked white bread, light fruity (pears, banana) and also light pepper in the finish. The body is light with a nice refreshing finish. This is a damn fine summer style ale. I could not find a bottle date, so if it is old, I’m impressed.
