Small bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Sep 18. Brought by me, picked up at a small carrefour in France. My first sake rating. Pours pale, clear. Strange nose, taste is strong alcohol, almonds, soya milk, hard to describe really. Difficult to gain much pleasure from this. Rated kindly.

18cl bottle from Sushi Shop, South Kensington. Clear very pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of rice, light melon. Taste is rice, slight melon and earthy boozey. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

On 23rd Jan 2020 I decided to change all my 34 'ticks' for no-beers into rates. Every 'tick' scored a '3', this will not change as they become 'rates'. My 'ticks' were Ciders, Meads, Perrys and Sake. This is a sake!

Cheap little bottle bought from ABC Ocoee. Clear pour. Nose is coconut and some almond skin. Tastes of coconut milk, chalk, almonds, medicine. Little cloying and plastic.

Drank cold (one of the recommended temperatures). The consistency of the liquid is clear. The olfactory intensity is normal, and the olfactory persistence is sufficient. The taste of the nose is fruity. The first impression of intensity in the mouth is of medium-strength’s sake, but rich and full-bodied. The dryness is rather dry. The body is full. The aroma is rich. The taste intensity is normal. The taste persistence is sufficient. On the palate the body is medium. The aftertaste is of medium intensity. The taste is pleasant. The final mouthfeel is drinkable sake. The finish is dry, clean, dry and tends more towards dry. The aroma in the mouth brings hints of melon.

Bottle. Almost clear, oily and flat. Lightly yellowish. The aroma has pears and some tropical fruits, with a touch of alcohol and rice. It’s oily and full-bodied, warming and dry, on the palate. Pears and tropical fruits in the flavor, hints of almond and flowers. Lasting fruity finish with a lemony hint. Pretty decent this one, wouldn’t mind having it again. 140616

Clear as water. Aroma is sweet, rice, marzipan and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet. Sweet finish with lots of alcohol. 210112

Bottle at home ... bright green ... soft jasmine nose ... sweet rice ... light floral ... little rough spirit ... maybe a littler un-complex but tasty enough ... not really dry ... nice but not got the depth of the better ones.
