Gekkeikan Traditional is the world’s most popular Junmai-shu! It embodies the signature Gekkeikan style and represents over 370 years and 14 generations of sake brewing experience.

From my sake backlog. 650 ml bottle. Clear and oily body with no carbonation. Aroma is like medicine, paint remover and alcohol. Flavor is mild rice water, sweet/bitter and alcohol with a hint of vinegar. Not particular pleasant.

From the bottle, warm, at Noi Sushi, Rimini, Italy. Couldn't see colour, as it was served in a dark cup. Aroma is delicate of anise. Body is average, no carbonation. Taste is pretty bitter. Finish is bitter too, and long.

Kroger bottle. Drinking chilled. Pours off-clear. Aroma is rice, alcohol. Flavor is rice, alcohol, glue, light sweet fruit. This isn't as bad as I imagined it probably would be. Easy to drink, soft flavor.

75cl from Akzenta. Typical fruity fragrant nose, with lots of melon and light freshness in the nose. The sake starts quite watery - not as intense as the nose promises. The fruity melon is there, but a bit thin, easy to drink but I miss aroma here. Water dominates the picture, the nice fragrant fruitiness with quite nice melons and peach is too far in the back. Moderate to short aftertaste - nice sessionable though. Hints of warming alcohol remain with a light Saké flavour on the tongue.

The wife and I had this a few weeks ago at a Mongolian BBQ restaurants of all places, but they spelled it wrong on the menu, I saw it today at a local State Store
