Last couple of heavy drinking events I’ve been to some jokester brings a bottle of this and tries to get people to drink. Most don’t but I end up chugging from bottle. This pours like water with alcoholic nose. Tastes mostly of rubbing alcohol but with light fruit, rice, grains, and grass. Not a great sake but the price keeps bringing this back into my life and I’ll keep drinking I assume

Clear cristal color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy rice, coconut, light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet with a average to long duration, ruf, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20100925]

Bottle, 75cl, at RBNAG -09. Courtesy of Sigmund. A clear, slightly yellowish sake. The nose feels dry and like wet paper, with a good addition of alcohol. Not in a very unpleasant way, but not wonderful either. It’s much the same on the palate, medium fullness, dry, and with warming alcohol and some wet paper. Rice too. Warming finish with rice and wet paper. Not my cup of tea. 091107

750 ml green bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 14.6%. Drank fridge cold. Clear, nearly colourless, like water - no carbonation. Unpleasant aroma of burnt rubber. Flavour of alcohol and water, hints of rice and rubber. What a crappy drink! This was my first sake, and will also probably be my last one - unless for free and forced upon me.

Warm, served at Sushi Haru in SKC, MO. This is my first Sake rating, and maybe the third I have had in my life. Strong hot rice and alcohol odor. Taste is the alcohol, but there is also a warming, almost nutty flavor / sensation. Body seemed thin, almost watery. I had this as a complement to an Asahi Dry, and the two, along with excellent sushi was quite nice. However, standing alone, not sure how much I enjoyed this.

I will be honest, I don’t know much about sake. What I do know comes from a friend of mine who likes to drink it. With that said, I honestly can’t say that the aroma or flavor was too unappetising.

Bottle. Served room temperature. Pours a medium thick looking rusty yellow, with some paler gold tinges around the edges. Smells acidic, sharp and quite vinegary, but not nearly as dry as the Ozeki. Flavor, however, is a different story, tons of sharp alcohol, huge acidic bite, the rice seemed rough and unrefined. I could drink it well enough, but I would like some subtleties and less abusive alcohol apparency. Good sharp finish however.
