(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted, hoppy nose with liquorice, dark chocolate, orange peel, grapefruit, resin, pine needles and treacle. Roasted, hoppy taste with notes of strong black coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread, liquorice, orange peel, dried fruit, grapefruit, passion-fruit, resin and a generous citric, resiny bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, sweet. Tasty and well made with a solid citric, resiny bitterness. On the sweet and sticky side. Very nice.

330ml bottle. Pours almost black with a creamy beige head. Aroma of sweet rich dark malts, dried fruits, citrus peel, pine. Taste is sweet, rich, dark fruits, dried fruits, citrus, peel, pine, bitter roast malts, warming alcohol, pretty well balanced. Full bodied, soft carbonation. Great black IPA, alcohol is noticeable at 10.5% but it's not too strong.

Bottle at home. Pours completely black, with a thin but lasting fine lacing head. Aroma is beautifully balanced and complex. Very nice malty base, with a distinct caramel and dark malt profile. A lot of hops go hand in hand with this, with a nice grassy and hoppy-herbal and spicy aroma. Definition of a black IPA aroma imho, just upped to 10+ abv. Very hoppy. Big body. Flavour is just as complex and deep as aroma. Very malty, a lot of caramel and very roasty for a BIPA, whilst not going too far. Hops is herbal and spicy with quite some pine. Some coffee and chocolate notes. Long piney and hoppy finish. Amazing BIPA, this is what a black IPA should be like.
