Bruxellensis is refermented for several months with a wild Brettanomyces yeast originated in Brussels. Amber with copper reflections, its fruity attack (pineapple, red fruits) is supported by hop flavours in dry hopping, and by complex, almost animal notes of old leather. It then develops a rich malty note with biscuit accents and a persistent fruity/candied flavour. Its finale is dry and bitter, its character is unique.

33 cl bottle purchased at the De la Senne shop at the brewery in Brussels, Belgium. Bott 11 Jul 24 on label. The pour is a hazy orange amber with a giant 4 inch, very lasting, off white head. Falls eventually with pretty lace. The aroma is leather, earthy Brett, really smooth and natural, along with fruit sweet malt grain and some grass. The taste is the softly sweet malt grain, then a lot of the Brett character. Big leather, drying, earthy, mineral finishes bone dry with more lingering Brett. The palate is medium bodied with soft natural carbonation and the leather soft Brett finish. Very dry, Orval reminiscent, though much more of the Brett.

Delicious, likely my fave from La Senne. Tangy and creamy, nicely balanced.

(Bottle) Golden amber colour, hazy, with big frothy off-white head, leaving traces of lacing. Fruity, spicy, yeasty nose with notes of red apples, white-currant, orange peel, barnyard, spices and funky yeast. Fruity, spicy taste with apples, bread, hay, white-currant, mandarin, spices, funky yeast and a mild spicy bitterness. A light bretty tartness in the finish. Medium body, dry. Lots of yeast character, bretty and citric. Possibly not everyone's favourite, but in my opinion very nice.

0.33 l bottle at Ambasada. Zagreb. Unclear golden with a reddish glow. Huge off-white head, slightly gushing. Aroma is acidic, carrot, apricot, cardboard. Funky, a bit sharp. Nice citrus and apricot after awhile. Funky sharp Brett flavour. Sharp herbal flavour. Bitterness. A bit astringent. A strong peppery character. Complex. Very dry, drinkable although a bit too sharp and aggressive.
