Bottle shared on the bus during RBWG 2015. Cheers! Pours hazy amber with a light, tan foam head. Heavy, with notes of toasted grains, caramel, hearty bread, dried fruits, toffee, leather. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, a little sticky, some ripe fruits, dates. Very good stuff.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours a rather opaque brown with a slight, transient tan head. Aroma of treacle and brown sugar (oxymoron?) with some medium dark fruits. Near full bodied. Flavor is ripe for oxidation - might take a few years. It’s treacle, date/raisin, oak. There’s a brandy suggestion. There’s no real heat impact. It’s nowhere near bitter; it’s pretty far from dry. To some extent it resembles aged Fuller’s Vintage Ale. This is a good beer to wrap around oneself.

Bottle during RBWG Booze Buse 20/02/15 thanks to whomever supplied this juan. Murky chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is rich malt, dark fruit shreds, booze fumes, barrel notes, spice, dates. Taste comprises fruit cake, toffee, dates, figgy jam, light spice, toasted brown sugar, hint of oxidisation creeping in. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close. Decent BA BW but perhaps starting to wain a little now.

Rating from notes. Brown color. A little oxidation, medium sweet and a hint of hops. I didn’t taste brandy but it is a little hot on the palate.

Opaque dark brown beer, decent pale tan head. Softish palate, light, very mild carbonation. Smooth mellow dark malts with a little dark chocolate. Rich honey underneath. Very pleasant mellow brandy with a light barrel wood. Finishes semi dry. Hangs together really well, the juxtaposition of honey and brandy works very well. Touch of aniseed.
