Giant aromas of pineapple and tropical fruit jump from this enticingly complex double IPA. True to its name, this brew delivers a heavy smack of dry hops and a double dose of bitterness in the finish.

Ridiculously hazy golden and peach coloured body with a thinnish, but very noticeable white head, only a centimetre or so tall. Aroma of very nice and incredibly aromatic tropical fruits, citrus, grass, flowers and a heavy hand of pine and grapefruit elements as well make this nice smelling amongst the bunches of malt and a good deal of yeast. Medium to perhaps Full-bodied; Strong grassy flavours with a ton of perfume, pine, resin, flowers and a bunch of very fresh citrus and grapefruit notes that make this quite nice and not incredibly pungent or potent, but the balance of malt seems amazing. Aftertaste shows some great balance as well with a lot of very fresh hop notes along with some good bitterness, a touch of sweetness from some tropical fruits like pineapple and mangoes and a finish with pine and malt in a good balance. Overall, a very nice Imperial IPA that shows great balance, a ton of fresh flavours that work well and a still easy-drinking, especially for the style. I initially didn't want to spend so much money and get behind some of the hype with this brewery, but this is pretty good - especially for the style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased a few minutes ago from Hy-Vee in Council Bluffs (Route 6), Iowa on 09-November-2018 for US$12,99 sampled in my hotel room here back in Downtown Omaha, Nebraska on 09-November-2018.

Draught at Deep Ellum, 3/28/18.
Heavily turbid orange juice. White head is somewhat dense, sitting at cover.
Smells like orange juice, but the good, New England IPA kind of orange juice with zesty, spicy, juicy hops, honey-like malts and fruity yeast. Soft, very fruity and with light pine and ruby red grapefruit with no resin, alcohol, sharp ester or other flaw. Seems quite nicely balanced in sweet/dry department, with no doughy yeast. Clean and well-executed, as TG hops have quite consistently been.
Tastes very similar to the Street series from Trillium, perhaps even a bit softer. Lots of mango-lime and orange juice. Excellent, flavorful, hoppy, yet nicely balanced stuff with a big malt depth and richness yet great attenuation. Tight, engaging carbonation highlighting some lightly green hop and pine character towards the end. Super soft, to reiterate, though warming does provide a bit of alcohol and sharp ester. Really, really nice, overall, though.

Bomber shared at Goedele’s dinner party, bought at Gedeelde Vreugde in Sint-Niklaas; these Toppling Goliath beers, their highly acclaimed and limited ‘super stouts’ excepted, seem to be more widely available lately thanks to the fact that they have been expanding their business in recent years – who knows, maybe Assassin, Kentucky Brunch or Mornin’ Delight will soon be readily available in the more discerning European craft beer web shops… I’m looking forward to that but meanwhile, let’s do with this IPA, showing an eggshell-white, moussy, medium thick head, slowly opening in the middle and lacing in shreds over a misty, eventually almost milky, yolk-yellow straw blonde beer. Aroma of frying onions, grapefruit juice, stale armpit sweat, marijuana, old lemon juice, dough, pineapple, mandarin, unripe mango. Lively fruity onset, mango and starfruit with a dash of green banana, sweet and sourish, with soft carbo and doughy, fluffy mouthfeel. Pleasant mellow sweetbread- and white bread dough-like malt base underneath an expressive, colourful hoppiness, providing a peppery bitterness in the finish as well as grapefruity, onion- and mango-like aspects retronasally, highlighted by a dash of gin-like alcohol in the end. The new juicy IPA (or in fact, NEIPA) trend executed by a renowned young craft brewery in a luscious, well-measured, albeit perhaps somewhat ‘dirty’ way. Loved it.

Bottle. A- Mango, papaya, grapefruit, slightly dank. A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Slightly grassy, tropical citrus, mild biscuit. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- One of the only hoppy beers I've ever had that rescinds in bitterness as I drink it and it warms. Slowly turns from a hopsmack (pun intended) to a fruit smoothie. Nice. Liked this beer quite a bit better than my rating shows.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a huge yellowish. The aroma has notes of exotic fruits, malt, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, exotic fruits, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.
