[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A straw coloured pour with a ring of white head; fruity hedgerow aroma; sweet blackberry taste to start, then some traditional English hops adding bitterness; and giving a dry biscuity bitter finish.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear mid gold coloured pour with a thin creamy white head. Aroma is semi sweet, creany custard vanilla, toffee, apple, maybe a hint of diacetyl on the nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, grassy hop, dirty grass, firm bitterness. Bark, wood. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, light creamy mouthfeel, grassy hop bitterness lingers. Little harsh.

Cask at Shrewsbury Hotel, Shrewsbury. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. There’s a fresh aroma featuring berry fruits and some hints of corn. In the mouth the first sip is sweet but it very quickly becomes quite strongly bitter. Similarly malty hints quickly shift to mixed hops and citrus, then later to sharpness with grapefruit and hints of caramel. Finish is dry, bitter and quite sticky. This is reasonable but not really my type of beer.
