Bouteille 550ml.

Pours black with foamy head. Alright lacing. Smells malty, a little booze and yeast. Taste is slightly sour with a light sweetness. Low carbonation. Bottle.

Aroma: Caramel (toffee) and sugar cane. Typically malted aromas. Sugar is in highlight here. We also find notes of cinnamon and raisins. Appearance: Brown, sparkling and hazy. Head is generous, creamy with a mix of tiny and large bubbles. Head is very long lasting. No lacing but leaves a film on the glass. color is beige. Flavors: Roasted malt flavors are generously mixing with yeast accents. We can find butter caramel brighten up by banana notes. Lively carbonation. A slight acidity, typical of wheat beers comes and support all flavors. Wheat and malt are very well mixed. I had never tasted Dunkelweisen before and I have to admit that it’s very pleasant and refreshing.

Originally rated June 2005. Sampled from their brown bottle, at L’Autre Oeil in Aylmer, Quebec. Best before date on label is 09/2005. Pours a deep amber with a beautiful cream-foam head. The retention is good, so is the lace. Aromas of spices, mild though, with hints of cream soda. The taste starts with spices and finishes on a slight bitter note. The aftertaste is of apples. The mouthfeel is light and creamy. Overall, was excepting a heavier brew, but was quite refreshing... especially with the mexican nachos I had.

At a tasting, thanks Oren, medium stable head, hazy light brown with yellowish taints, flavour of banana, nuts, vanila and a touch of spice, aroma of overipe, even rotten fruits and a touch of woodiness, light sweetish bitter aftertaste, quite light.

Bottle at a tasting. Thanks Oren. Hazy rusty light brown color with a big white head. Aroma of fruits esters, bubblegum and some caramelly notes. Sweetish flavor of wheat, fruits and some sweet malt. Rather light-bodied. OK.

Bottle (kindly delivered by Stefan!): Hazy, ruby-amber coloured, big - slowly collapsing - off-white head; mouldy-cellary traces in the sourish-malty nose; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied, relatively soft; short sourish-malty finish. Not so great......
