Bohemian Pilsner 5,2% ABV
A Bohemian-style pilsner, bitter, floral and delicate, traditionally handmade.
Using 100% floor malted Czech pilsner malt.
Hopped with Saaz hops.
Utilizing the traditional technique of decoction mash for extra depth and complexity.
Brewed with an authentic Czech lager yeast strain.
Conditioned for at least 6 weeks for a proper lagering.
Hard to make, delicious and rewarding if done right.

440ml can, MH 2026 tasting, thx F&L! Lightly hazy paaaaale shiny yellow body... Misconception no. 1 - Czech Pilsners frequently have a certain percentage of a darker malt (color, body, taste etc.), they generally aren't 100% floor malted pilsner malt. The aroma is definitely Czech or Czechoid hops, herbal and lemony mostly, bit minerally. Extremely dried out taste, there's some bug in here sadly. Herbal and citric hops, actually some rougher herbal bitterness there, which I prefer to the no-bitterness idiocy. Hmm... this has promise, I'd be crushing these in Greece no problem!

Can courtesy of Kostas, Kykao brewery, cheers Kostas! Had this Saturday 14th February at the Manglham 2nd Winter Tasting listening to The Orb - Buddhist Hipsters. Pours clear silvery gold in colour with a very light haze. Nice hoppiness on the nose, lemony mouthfeel, nicely bitterness, streaky with a dry finish, in terms of authenticity yeah it's probably missing the target a bit but I am enjoying it and would be happy drinking a few of these. Score 7.5
