Bottle (thanks BlazerT). Pours dark brown with light brown head. Aroma is roast, chocolate, malt. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, chocolate, malt, booze, some mushroomy notes. Overall: good, but this is kind of run of the mill De Molen RIS, and adjunts doesn’t improve it.

Bottle shared. Very dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, mocha, coffee liquor, soy sauce, some subtle mushrooms and a bit of a metallic feeling. The mushrooms become a bit more present after a few sips, but the beer is still a standard imperial stout, roasty, chocolatey and a bit smokey. Later edit: after several sips, the soy sauce / mushrooms are quite overpowering, just too much umami. I could not finish a whole bottle. --- Beer merged from original tick of (collab with) De Molen Wet & Wild on 21 Jan 2017 at 22:41 - Score: 7

0.33 l bottle, bottled in 2016, courtesy of my Secret Santa 2016 MrHangover, thanks Johan! Black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of milk chocolate, hazelnut, nougat, vanilla and milk coffee. Rather sweet, malty, quite roasty and a bit nutty taste of milk and dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, licorice, vanilla and some caramel, followed by a rather long, quite roasty-bitter, dry finish. Full body, creamy to oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Delicious! Not sure if I get the mushrooms, but it’s a great rich and moreish Imperial Stout nevertheless.

330 ml. bottle @ Beerlovers Bar. Black, solid creamy mocha head. Nose is mocha, chocolate, sugar, nice chocolate & mocha with a nice small sweetish umami note (mushroom + truffle additions I suppose). Taste is sweet chocolate, sugar, mocha, nice chocolate & mocha with same low sweetish umami touch, faint chocolate truffles. Sweet mocha body. Quite a nice beer. Good work.

Imperial stouts with mushrooms... Made me fearfull ! Pours black , good off white head. Smell is rather intense, roasty, some malts. Mild ’unknown’ aspect - perhaps the mushrooms, but i don’t recognize it as such. Taste is simillar. Very decent Imperial stout, not too much mushroom. Nice.
