British crystal malts give this beer its distinctly deep amber body and nutty aroma that persist throughout the glass. The soft underlying hop bitterness is tempered with the flowery aroma of the U.K. Golding hop. Like its namesake, Bulldog Amber Ale is tough on the exterior with a soft disposition, so it’s a great introduction to Half Pints.

341mL bottle, pours orangey amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of dry caramel malts. Flavour of dried fruits (apricot, orange), caramel malts and a touch of sweetness. Quite decent amber.

Hazy orange-amber color. The aroma is comfortably fruity and malty, elegant. Good caramel flavor; the yeast created a good combination of esters, light fruit, soft spice. Correct bitterness. Solid brew.

Deep amber color. Faint hops in the nose with hints of apricot as well as an ever present crystal malt. Malty smooth mouth with same apricot flavor. Mildly bitter finish. Not bad, but nothing too exciting.

Hazy light amber liquid with thin head and gentle carbonation. Quite English in the aroma with crisp woody and herbal hop, light toast & caramel malt plus peachy, almost cantaloupy esters. The esters are prominent in the palate as well. The malts are sweet but bright, the hops moderate but with a mild flowery/foresty note that complements the rest of the beer quite well. Subtle, enjoyable brew.

Bottle courtesy of Piscator34: Poured a deep amber reddish color ale with a medium dirty white head with good retention. Aromas of citrus hops are well balance with nutty malt. Taste is refreshing with sweet nutty malt with a nice bitter finish. Body is above average and I appreciated the low filtering. Probably one of the best amber beers I’ve had (not a style that is usually know to produce real gem though).

Golden orange ale with a thin white head. Light orange malt with fresh herbal hops, malt out of mash tun, fresh and pleasant. In mouth, a crisp malt with british hops. Medium bodied, well balanced. Thanks to Piscator32! Enjoyed with the Mtl Crew Sept. 9, 2006.
