The recipe for a citrusy, hibiscus-flavored wheat ale that Steele conceived was first brewed on the 10-barrel brewhouse at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station. Originally named “Going Red,” the beer was a special-release offering to promote awareness of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.
The hibiscus flowers added in the whirlpool contribute so much to this beer: the pink color, the tart flavor, and the intense floral and berry characters. Orange peel adds some notes of tropical fruit flavor, which increases the refreshing quality of this beer.

Sample at Bob’s Bar. The beer pours a clear reddish-gold color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, hibiscus and roast malt. The finish is moderately bitter with an herbal and fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Craft Islington. Keg. Light haze on this reddish amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Dry palate, mild fine carbonation. Milf floralness with jammy sweetness, generic fruits and a slight boiled sweet vibe. Light finish. Not bad.

bottle. Grassy, herbal nose, fruity, spicy yeast, lemon, lots of hibiscus. Ok. Not my kind of thing.

Draft at Frankies pizza. Pours a pinkish amber color with a pink tinted head. Sweet candy sugar aroma. Sweet floral flavors with a sugary background. Came off as a but of a dessert beer for me. Lingering fruity finish. Nothing about this beer offended me. Good beer.

Bottle. Light lactic acid, hibiscus, and light malt aroma. Amber with moderate head. Sweet-sour yeasty/milky hibiscus, biscuit malt and lightly bitter hay flavor.

Poured from the tap. Cloudy orangey brown with slight pinkish hue and off white head. Hibiscus floral and strawberry/cherry with some banana ester. Quite dry finish with subtle hops.

Strawberry, lemon zest, and pear nose. Clear rose, thin head. Dry, perfumey rose petal accents, strawberry base. Medium body, fizzy. I really haven’t like any of these Stochasity Project beers very much. Point for creativity, though.

Bomber from Beer Run, opened 10/17/14. Pours a hazy pinkish cranberry color with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral notes, grapes, plum, spice, pale malt. The taste is tart fruits, cherry, plum, cranberry, floral notes, pale malt. Medium bodied, delicate, good balance. Not sure why this is a Belgian Ale, but... 200th Belgian Ale rating!

Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is sweet flowers, candisugar, and a hint of citrus and bubblegum. Murky rusty red with a medium lightly lacing off white head. Flavor is light bitterness with a moderate contrasting sweetness and fruitiness. Gorgeous looking glass of beer.
