With clear notes of espresso, dark chocolate and a hint of authentic Icelandic coffee, this Porter is dark and rich, offering a medium body that is robust, yet smooth on the palate and easy to drink. There’s no need to be afraid of the dark anymore.

24 June 2018. At Tilburgs Bierfestival. Deputy Taster: Anke.
Hazy black, brownish, with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head; lots of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, walnut, tea leaves, brown bread, fondant, blackcurrant, burnt caramel, tobacco. It tastes medium to heavy roasted bitter, some coffee & fondant (noir de noir), and light malty sweet, hints of burnt caramel & walnut. Toasty, dry, peppery hoppy, bitter finish, slightly wry, small dash of warming whisky alcohol, lingering coffee. Medium to light body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Outspoken, robust indeed, not as easy to drink (for most, I presume) as the palate would suggest.

11.2 oz. bottle purchased at Craft Beer Outlet, Philadelphia. Aroma is roasted grain, chocolate, mild ash. The flavor is good; chocolate and coffee with a really decent body and mouthfeel for a porter! Well done!

330 ml bottle. Pours with an almost black color and a small, tan head. Nose is roasted malts combined with fine chocolat . Some dried fruit as well. Nice silky mouthfelling, taste follows the nose. Body is a little thin.

Bottle. Pours a deep and dark brown with a thin head. Aromas are interesting - a hint of plum or something with the leather and chocolate. Flavor is similar. Lots of chocolate leads the way but there is a slight fruit edge to it that makes this kind of distinctive and interesting. I haven't decided that I LOVE it, but I am intrigued. Has a kind of acidity to the finish.
