A very pale ale bursting with hop flavour from the signature hop - Citra. Brewed with soft Lakeland water, Maris Otter malted barley and whole cone hops.

500ml from Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt range. One of the best so far, the other being near-neighbour Hardknott’s Infra Red. Anyway, pale gold pour, thin white head. Big citra hop node, which I love, one of my favourite hops, grapefruit, mango even, cantaloupe. Faint cereal. On the taste, good bitterness, maybe a tad too much, but eventually a biscuit malt sweetness appears. Very gentle carbonation, could be a cask pint, medium-bodied, bitter finish. Loved it.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013 range. Pale gold clear lasting white head. Grassy hoppy aroma. In cask this is one of my favourite beers in the UK. In bottle it’s still good, the grassy hop comes through a bit more, but it’s still a lovely golden ale with good bitterness on the finish. It’s good grassy hoppy and bitter. Delicious.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Murrayfield
Light golden, clear, large frothy white head with good lacing
Aroma - Fresh zesty citrus hops, strong grapefruit zest, light pale malt background, good aroma
Taste - Fresh grapefruit bitter zest hops, bitter grapefruit, very light pale malt background, very hoppy flavour for abv, getting much more Citra than the other hops, straightforward flavours, a little harsh bitter as the pale malt is very subdued
Palate - Light body, quite oily, stinging bitter hop palate. Fresh quite dry, long sharp bitter zest linger...maybe a tad too bitter
Overall - Excellent golden ale, maybe a little harsh on the finish but lots of hops and flavour for the 4% - certainly a thirst quencher

500ml bottle. Clear golden amber colour, foamy white head and aroma of biscuity malt, fruity passionfruit & citrus. Taste is malt with tangy grapefruit citrus & a grassy bitterness. Light bodied, well carbonated, very dry bitter finish. Quite OK.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt 2013 range. Pale amber with a billowing cream head; the aroma has some citrus and pine; the taste is dominated by the Citra hops, but has a pleasant lemony malt body as well; the hops linger on, giving a dry, slightly rasping finish. Good stuff.

500ml bottle. Pours gold with a large, frothy head. Aroma is subtle, dirty lime, grass and pissy Citra. Taste has lots of grass and Citra hop. Strong bitter finish. Touches of lime. Slightly acrid.
