A light golden ale with an extra thick white head. Strong blueberry aroma permeates as bottle is opened, some perfume notes in nose as beer warms up. In mouth, a rather perfumey ale with light blueberry notes, but overall, cloying. Not a fan of that style. Bottle from Moncton, from Probstk.

An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of blueberries, while the flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of blueberries. The body is thin, which is a drawback, otherwise a nice one.

This ale poured a medium yellow colour with a great big white head. To the nose of course blueberry scents with dough and a bit of citrus. First sip was very nice with not an overpowering taste of blueberrys. Nice flavour with a little hopp to it. Palate was a little doughy with flavours of the hops lingering.

Served with a dollop of actual blueberries in it. This goes on top and then they fire another shot of beer into the glass, creating a purple swirl in the head. Most of the blueberries sink gradually to the base of the glass, where they make a nice snack to finish up the Pump House Blueberry Ale experience. The beer itself is golden amber. Smells like blueberries ( I have to admit, the presence of those fresh blueberries – it’s harvest season so I know they’re fresh – would do a good job hiding the use of extract). Tastes like bland, fizzy, yellow ale with blueberries. Points for presentation, no question – it’s even better than drawing shamrocks in your Guinness and miles ahead of that pretentious Interbrew nonsense. But it’s really not that good a beer.
