A big, unfiltered American IPA built to accompany the big Eastern Winter. Just like an epic bluebird day follows a snow storm, a peppery build from the Rye-malt accompanies glorious hop notes of pine, citrus and fresh grass. The bold Rye-malt backbone warms the soul, whether after a long day on the slopes with your buds, or just sitting in front of the fireplace at home.

From tap. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, peachy and grapefruity. Smooth fruity, crisp hoppy and citrusy. Lingering crisp hoppy finish.

Pours a hazy amber with a medium off-white head. Lots of particulates in this unfiltered beer. Aroma is a piney hoppiness. Unlike others I can’t discern a clear rye component, no peppery flavor. It’s a fine IPA.

OK, from the start I think this is not sokind. Smells like an IPA with some BO in there. Nice lacing BTW. Barely any co2. The taste is strong bitter pointed. Rye laced BS. Not kind as advertised, jsut a bitter poning annoying beer. In yer face at times.THo not viscous like and ipa but vertainly just as menacing. More astringent than expected. Not impressed.

12 oz. bottle purchased at The Beer Store, Nashua NH. Lightly hazy gold color with thin spotty lacing. Pretty mild aroma even when warm. Weak rye malt, traces of grapefruit.

Maybe it takes a lot to impress me because this just seems underwhelming. Spicy rye and lingering grapefruit bitterness lingers long after the sip. Normally that is a good thing, here however, it throws the balance out of wack. Also lots of grapefruit as it warms with a higher than desirable carbonation level. Meh

12oz bottle pours a hazy orange with lots of fluffy, lacing white head. Nose has a ton of juicy citrus, white grape too, orange juice, even a little fresh pineapple, guava too. Flavor has a balance of ripe fruits and mild citrus, guava, mango, pineapple, Asian pear, orange, mild pine. The rye hits with flicks of spiciness at the end. Dry finish. Another winner from Otter Creek.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark orange-tan color with a large foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with notes of grapefruit, orange and a bit of pineapple. The flavor was bitter and tart with grapefruit, orange and lemon. Long finish. Medium body. Solid.

Hazy super deep copper coloured body with some orange tints and a nice bronze highlight, all with a thick, three cenitmetre tall tan head. Aroma of bright hops, rye, sage, malt, alcohol and some tropical fruit sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong specialty grain flavour at first with some deeply bittering hops and a pungent malt note, some lighter alcohol and sweet flavours, all finishing with a nice rye malt coupled with some good hop flavours. Aftertaste shows a good balance of hops and malt, with a kick of rye and still some airy dry herbal flavours as well. Overall, a nice rye-based IPA with a complex profile and still some good sweet notes on the end. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church (Skyline/Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia on 13-February-2014 for US$1.83 sampled at home in Washington on 30-March-2014.

Bottle. Bette Beer Of The Month Club. Hazy deep golden with a medium off-white head. Lovely hoppy aroma full of tropical fruits and some citrus. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, a touch of rye spiciness, nice fruity hops, slightly piney, and a crisp bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Very nice and refreshing.

Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a medium thick foamy white head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Piney hops and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, earthy malt and a bit of spicy rye. The finish is moderately bitter with a hops and citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.
