An alien-like outsider, always flirting with oddity and exploring anxiety and paranoia. A style chameleon, a wonderful labyrinth and truly a transcendent genius. It’s impossible not to idolize out of proportion. This is a stout. It may not be a hero but it’s attractive, clever and hungry for stardom.

Can at Craft Room. Pitch black, fluffy tan head. Full nutty malty aroma with some coffee. The taste is drier than expected, lighter, leathery coffee ending exceedingly dry, bitterish. Nice but not fantastic.

Good oatmeal stout from Evil Twin, more textural and aesthetically pleasing than tasty, but a well-crafted pint nonetheless. Enormous amount of char and roast provide a smoky, bitter baseline, while strong veins of bitter chocolate and espresso round out the profile. A prominent coffee cherry acidity takes away from the roasted goodness, but the finish grows bitter and clingy, with a dry fade dripping with smoke. If only that weird bright acidic streak were tamed, this pint might be a classic. Smoked espresso nose, and the pour's a medium-bodied black with a brown head and good lacing. Not bad, but could be better.

Can, 7%. Aroma of salty smoke. Black colour, seems fairly clear. Small frothy off-white head. The flavour is quite roasted with a caramelly hop note. Has a little smoke and cream, but not the salt I thought I smelled in the aroma. Quite creamy finish with a hint of winegummy hops. Thin mouthfeel, but not a problem here, I think.

Can. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Clear aroma of roast and malt, with touches of hops and yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with coffeelike and ashy notes and touches of dark chocolate and hops and yeast. Hints of oats. Roasty and estery aftertaste with coffeelike touches. Creamy mouthfeel despite medium carbonation. Good.

Schöne dunkle Röstmalze im Trunk, leicht angebrannt, etwas Mokka. Mittig herb, malzig. Lange holzige Spur bis in den Abgang. Hinten etwas bitter. So muss ein Stout schmecken.

Can. Dark brown. Chocolatey aroma is also quite hoppy. On the lighter side but that makes it drinkable. Bitter and hoppy. Has again a nice balancing sweetness and intense roastiness.

18.05.2017, 1 pint can @ home:
Big light brown slightly fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, dark malts, dark sugar, minerals, hay, roasted grain, toast, paper, bark, licorice, sour coffee. Taste is dry sour-ish mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, sour-ish roasted grain, paper, burnt toast, burnt coffee, grass, licorice, medicine. Medium to longlasting bitterness, watery and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough, not really my cup of tea.
