Bottle thanks to Minh. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is chocolate, roast, peppers, vanilla, grape, wood. Medium mouth, vinous, chocolate, roast, dark fruit, light spice in finish, my favorite of the 13’ BAs.

Bottle shared@Himmeriget, Copenhagen - pours black with a tan head. Aroma and taste is roasted malty with chocolate, caramel, cinnamon, wooden notes with some lovely vinous Cabernet red wine coming in along with the chilli heat giving some additional light red grape acidity, light tannin, overall another great barrel variant of the base brew.

Bottle @ Himmeriget. Pours oily black with a small mocha head that leaves some spotty trace on the glass. Smell is malty, fruity and spicy with roasted malts, cramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, moist wood, dark chocolate, dark roast coffee, cinnamon, smoked chilis, dark grapes, dried bilberries, leather, moist soil and aerated red wine. Taste is sweet, bitter, very tiny sour, malty, fruity and slightly spicy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, oily, tiny astringent, tiny boozy and near full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, spices and complex leathery red wine. Amazing barrel treatment on a great base beer. The red wine character marries perfectly with the base. something I did not expect. Another amazing act of craftsmanship by Westbrook.

Amazing fruity wine barrel character. Red wine BA can be cool but didn't expect it to be this good. Perfect blend of spices and grapes.
