12/II/14 - 1Pt. 6Fl. Oz. bottle as "Bourbon barrel" @ De Hopduvel (Gent) - bottled: 6/VI/13 or VI/6/13 (2014-185) Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, no head, just a few bubbles floating atop the beer. Aroma: oh my, the vanilla is big on this one! But other stuff as well, bourbon, alcohol, caramel, fudge, brownie, lots of dried fruits, dark chocolate, ginger bread (actually more like "peperkoek" for the Dutchies) probably because of the cinnamon, but it's more spicy and complex than just cinnamon. MF: nice soft carbon, full body. Taste: immediate hot burn from the peppers on the tongue, lots of peperkoek (ginger bread), pretty sweet and malty, molasses, chocolate (both milk and dark), vanilla, spices. Aftertaste: more ginger bread ("couque de Dinant"), cinnamon, spices, hot pepper, chocolate, some mocha, caramel. Holy bimbam, this is good stuff!!!

Thanks Bobochamp! Oily black appearance, no foam. Medium carbonation. Aroma of roasted malts and vanilla, also fruity and hints of cocoa. Complex beer, full body. Red peppers in the aftertaste together with the bourbon. Boozy beer, the sweetness is a bit too overwhelming.

The Last Tasting at Bruce’s palatial pad. Thanks to Paulio for this treat. Opaque dark black-brown beer, good tan head. Really nice barrel aged - chocolate nose. Palate is smooth, light and slightly airy. Gorgeous ’Bounty Bar’ chocolate and coconut. A mix of both the milk and dark chocolate versions. Dark malt tang and lovely mellow bourbon. Dark malt cream and a light touch of dark fruits that gradually resolve in to mostly cherry and blackcurrant. The chilli is there from the start but slowly builds to a mellow heat. Light finish with a medium chilli linger. Superb!

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, huge thanks to Paulo for liberating this baby, 19/09/13. Pitch black with a thin dirty tan head that clears to a swirl atop the glass. Nose is dark roast malts, coconut shavings, brown sugar, dark toffee fudge, earthy cocoa notes, bourbon soaked wood. Taste comprises sweet bourbon notes, light cocoa, molasses, peppery, sugars, light spice, dark toffee fudge. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light booze in the finish. Great BA impy, easy drinking, balanced and the alcohol is well integrated.

Bottle via trade, shared at Bruce’s place. It pours jet black with a medium tan head. The nose is rich, roasty, tiffin cake, vanilla, spice, wood, mild acidity, green banana, chocolate cake and bounty bar. The taste is rich roast, bounty bar, chilli heat, chocolate, alcohol warmth, mild acidity, coconut, vanilla, fudge and toffee with a roasty, warming finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Oily, big, rich and indulgent. The balance is incredible. A great melange of flavours. Delicious!

Bottle at Bruce’s in London - massive thanks to Paul for this guy. Pours black and thick like motor oil with a thick, tight brown cream head. Smells great, lots of rich chocolate, coconut, hints of torched wood. Medium to big sweet flavor with oily dark chocolate, moderate chili pepper, some slick coconut. Full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Mellow warmth on the finish, restrained peppery heat, a bit of toffee and coconut, slightly syrupy chocolate. Rich, dynamic, balanced - wonderful beer.
