From a 3 oz taster at the brewery in Denver. Pours a clear orange gold with an off white head. Feint orange aroma. Flavors of caramel and candi sugar. Sweet boozy finish. Quite nice.

Bottle @ yespr. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor with woody caramel hints. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty birch finish.

22oz bottle pours a clear orange with some cloudy, white head. Nose is sweet, loads of sap, earthy, sticky. Flavor is very sweet, syrupy, birch sap, woody. Just too sweet and sticky.

On tap at PIB, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out the birch syrup immediately, along with caramel malts and a touch of hops. Flavour is extremely syrupy, drowning out any hop profile that might've once existed. This thing is dominated by sweet syrup. How can you call this a double IPA? I see ratebeer sure doesn't. Okay for what it is, but it's way too cloyingly sweet for me. Passable.

Bottle shared by me! Poured a clear yellow color with a small head. Aroma is notes of sweet malts. Flavor was light malts, sweetness. Okay, but not as impressive as I had hoped.

Aroma: The nose is sweet and woody, with a good amount of spice and some yeast
Appearance: It pours a completely clear golden-orange color with a small head and almost no lace
Flavor: The taste is also rather sweet, basically just like the nose, with plenty of spice
Palate: The body is medium, it has average carbonation, a decent feel, and a sticky, spicy finish
Overall Impression: I don't always enter them but I do always enjoy a good bottle v. draft comparison even if it isn't intentional (as in when I purchased this I didn't realize I'd had it before). I would venture to say that this bottle is better than my draft rating indicates I thought this beer was back in June, but I still didn't love it. It gets a little too sticky and sweet for my taste.

Aroma: The nose is sweet and malty, syrupy, as the description would suggest
Appearance: Pours an amberish color with a beige head and some average lace
Flavor: The taste is malty and sweet, lacks anything to make it above average flavor-wise
Palate: The body is medium-full, a little sticky, a little booze, and a decent enough mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I was not impressed by this one at all. It was really just an "eh" beer. There's not too much more to say beyond that.

Pours clear copper color with off white head. Toffee and booze aroma with some pine. Overly sweet caramel flavor with some pine and dough. Medium body with average carbonation. I enjoyed the previous anniversary recipe much more.

On tap at Hillbilly Po Boy’s. Pours a clear yellowish gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet grains and raisin with some underlying sweet breads. Flavor starts with raisin and sweet grains with a bit of backing toffee and booze.

Bomber. Bottled 4/19/13 Pours hazy orange with a medium off-white collapsing head; leaves some lace. Aroma is woody, candy sweet, a bit fruity. Taste starts out sweet and savory before finishing bitter; the savoriness lingers. Flavors of wood and toasted coconut are strong. Alcohol is pretty potent, but it doesn’t taste 10.2%. Fairly soft carbonation, oily mouthfeel, body seems lighter than it should be. I like it. I bet it would age well.

Sample from 650 ml. bottle. Slightly hazy golden colour with an amber hue. Sweet aroma with fruits, spices, bread and caramel malts, faint alcohol and wooden notes. Taste is sweet. Full body, creamy texture. Finishes bitter with herbal and spicy hops. Not a big thing for me, sorry.
