Out of the bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow. White head collects and lingers nicely. Lots of tiny, dense bubbles. I get a little corn/DMS in the nose. At the back of the nose is some nice grain. This is a solid, big pilsner. Very well-attenuated. Alcohol shows at the end. A little spicy hop comes through as well, I don’t get much bitterness from the hops. Not a great beer, but a great cause so everyone should buy one.

Hay and lemon zest nose. Clear yellow, medium head, good lacing. Lemon peel flavor with hints of skunk that aren’t altogether unpleasant. Nice and refreshing. Bonus point for a worthy cause.

Crisp, slightly hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and a thin white head that fades fast. Aroma of bright hops, grapefruit, grass, wheat and a touch of lemons - relatively nice! Medium-bodied; Biting floral and grapefruity hops up front with some lemon and alcohol flavours afterwards. Aftertaste shows a touch of dry floral tastes, some slightly earthy notes and a good hop bitterness (albeit light). Overall, a good beer - especially for the style, perhaps even one of Abita’s best; plus, it’s for a good cause, so that’s only better! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Bon Vivant Market in Smithfield, Virginia on 14-October-2010 for US$5.05 sampled at home in Washington on 23-October-2010.

22 oz bottle. Pours on the pale side of golden, clear with a nice white head. Aromas of pilsener and wheat malts and touches of floral and grassy hops. Flavor leads with a floral and grassy hop presence, then brings in the wheat and pilsener malt flavors. A little bitterness and earthy hop flavors build up. Rather nicely done, striking an interesting balance between pilsener and American wheat beer.

Bottle thanks to Sarah! Pours a near clear gold with a large white head that lasts throughout and laces slightly. Aroma has a a good amount of citrus with a nice light grain backing. Flavor also has a decent amount of citrus (orange peel) in the beginning with a nice grain and cereal finish.

Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours gold with slight haze and weak white head. The aroma is muted with earthy wet moldy pavement notes. The taste is spicy yeastiness and candy like fruitiness. Into the finish some mild graininess comes to the surface to help break things up a bit.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 9/26/10
Aroma: It has a light, crisp nose of grass, flowers, yeast, bread, and a bit of citrus.
Appearance: A clear dark gold color with lots of bubbles and a frothy, lacy white head.
Flavor: It has a nice, clean flavor that is medium sweet, light-medium bitter, and well balanced.
Palate: It is rather crisp and clean on the mouth with a medium body. Drinkability is very high.
Overall Impression: I think the best way to describe this one is clean, and I mean that as a compliment, as this one is actually pretty good. This is an extremely drinkable and fairly simple pilsener, that just works. This beer as an excellent example of how you can make a good beer by keeping it simple. On top of all that, it is for a good cause. Let's hope they raise a lot of money to help the Gulf region.

Pours clear, pale gold into a pilsner glass. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface leaving spare sheets. Mild cereal aromas. Soft with sweet bread and dough upfront turning to a slight mild hop finish. Nicely balanced.
