We're enjoying revisiting our brewing history with our 10th anniversary series, and one of the most defining beers for Salikatt has been Humlesjeik. A 4.7% New England–style Pale Ale that punches well above its ABV. Since brewing the first batch in 2019, we've been asked to brew an imperial Humlesjeik—and this is it! Brewed with Amarillo, Mosaic, Azacca and Citra.

Can, #950, five weeks after canning. Pours opaque pale yellow, with a big creamy head. Aroma is grassy hops with tropical notes of lime, passion fruit and pineapples, as well as lactose and oaty minerals. Creamy body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet notes of lactose and hoppy notes of stone fruits, gooseberries and citrusy notes of lime and grapefruit, as well as oaty minerals. Lingering sweet hoppy finish.

Rerate, 440 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Sandnes Maxi. ABV is 7.5%. Opaque pale yellow colour, moderate to small white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and spruce. Flavour of citrus and pine needles, hints of melon. Original rating: Sample on tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy pale yellow colour, large white head. Aroma and flavour of pine needles, citrus and tropical fruits. Not bad, but I got a feeling of deja vu here. I have a can of this beer too, will rerate in a day or two.

Can. Piney, grapefruity with a touch of resin. Some pale malts in the back. Hints of the lactose too. Decent bitterness. Nice. 747414 260628

0,44 gledesspreder velegnet til to dersom meddrikkeren er en avholdsmann. Fullstendig ugjennomsiktig blekgul med kvalitetsskum. Kvalitet er det også på resten av opplevelsen. Silkemyk maltkropp med saftig og lett syrligfrisk avslutning, hipp hurra for jubilanten!
