Bottle in Brooklyn. Opaque black color, small beige head. Aroma has quite delicious chocolate. Medium-bodied. Very chocolaty flavor, not artifical-like. Some coffee too. Just needs more ABV boost.

Bottle courtesy of Adam, Prince of Mogadishu, and the Nairobi mafia. Thank you, your royal highness, for getting me to 100 Connecticut ratings without having to actually set foot in the state again. Completely black color, large dark brown head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of rich dark milk chocolate. Taste is sweet Hershey’s syrup. Medium to light body. Tasty enough.

Bottle at the pre Bamberg tune up in the Sham, thanks to an IP trade with jtclockwork - thanks James, 23/01/14. Light black with a thin tan head that thins to spotting/edgework. Nose is blackcurrant, lactic tang, black forest gateaux, tarte berry fruits. Taste comprises soured berry fruits, earthy cocoa, lactose. medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of cocoa and soured berries. Ok.

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with cherries, powdery, milk and fruits. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light cherry, light sour barrel, nice. On tap at alewife.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear deep brown with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a rich chocolate note with underlying earthy dark grains. Flavor has a lighter chocolate note with a backbone of earthy dark grains.

New Beer Distributors, NY 12oz ($2.25): Pours black with a brownish head. Aroma is light chocolate, sugar, roasted malts. Taste is much the same. Slightly sweet. Roasted malt flavor. Really smooth. Nice chocolatey undertone. I would have liked a little more chocolate, but in any case, this was a nice mellow stout.

Draft @ the Ale House in Amesbury. Tulip glass shows a black pour without any head. Nose is weak chocolates, roasted barley and ash. Taste is much the same. Got to say it also had a slight sourness in the flavor, dirty tap line?? Hard to know the origin of the sour Flavor. The body is mediocre leaning on the thin side. Having a hard time seeing what people like in this stout. Very plain. Disappointed.
