Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice hazy amber color with a soft one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing.
The smell had some light caramel malts.
The taste was semi-sweet leaving just a tad to be desired as far as it seemed like it just needed a bit more perhaps an edge of more hops.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a slight sessionability about it.
Overall, this was just okay, it wasn’t anything special but it wasn’t anything bad.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a cloudy orange color with a massive foamy, rocky beige head and thick clinging lace. Aroma is both smoky and mapley, like maple cured bacon. Sweet toasted malt flavor, again more smoke and maple syrup flavor. Slightly medicinal, but the smoke is dominant. Subtle bitter finish with underlying notes of vanilla and raisins.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly cloudy ruby copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big apple skin, pear, toast, light caramel, light smoke, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Poor aromas with overly estery notes and light malt presence. Taste of caramel, toast, smoked meat, brown bread, brown sugar, maple syrup, light chocolate, herbal, and toasted earthiness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toast, brown sugar, smoke, light chocolate, brown bread, herbal, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and complexity of dark malt, smoke, and maple syrup flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately creamy, smooth, and lightly bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall, other than the horrible aromas, this was a very solid smoked amber ale. Well balanced dark/bready malt, smoke, and maple syrup flavors; and very smooth to sip on. This was quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Clear deep ruby amber color, thick beige head, solid lacing, a beautiful beer. Aroma of burnt toast drizzled with maple syrup and light spice. Taste also has spice, burnt caramel, black pepper. Tasty stuff.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish amber with a medium fizzy beige head that quickly dissipates with decent lacing. Sweet aroma, caramel, maple syrup, light smoke and ash. Flavor is similar, only lightly sweet with a touch of maple. Smoky notes more prominent. Light ashy bitterness and astringence. Not a bad effort.

Location: 22 oz bottle ottle from Buy Rite, 1/6/13

Aroma: The aroma is a smoked malts and sweet maple mostly, light herbal hops
Appearance: It pours a clearish mahogany color with a small beige head
Flavor: The flavor is similar to the nose component-wise, with sweetness and smoke
Palate: This one is medium bodied, with average-plus carbonation, and a slightly smokey finish
Overall Impression:  This is a solid one for sure, with nice components. Worth trying.

A hazed reddish amber ale with a thick lacing mocha head. In aroma, a rather strange herbal hops with light resinous notes and maple wood. In mouth, a smokey malt with smoked ham, nutty malt, herbaceous qualities, raspy mouthfeel. Tasted at Raquette River Beer and Wine Fest, July 13 2012.

Bomber from Half Time. Pours hazy dark amber with a slight, creamy beige head. Mixed mild maple and smoke for aroma. Med body. Flavor is smoke, roasted caramel, and then as those dissipate, a little maple comes out. Finishes pretty dry and smoky. Think this should be listed under smoked ale.

Hazy deep amber coloured body with a muddy brown tint and a thinnish, light off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, fruit, malt, citrus and a touch of light hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty flavour with some nuts, earth, nutmeg and a light peaty flavour. Medium-bodied; Strong nuts and a good herbal and citrus hoppy note show mostly in the aftertaste with a little alcohol and earth at the very end. Overall, a nice and rather complex beer for the style with a decent amount of hops - surprisingly nice! I sampled this 65 cL bottle alongside smoked brisket (a good pairing) purchased from Oliver’s Beverage in Albany, New York on 18-November-2012 for US$6.99 sampled on 14-April-2012 at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
