Bottle at maniac’s. hazy golden amber color, large thick white head with good retention. aroma of butterscotch. Taste is slightly metallic caramel. This one is past its drink by date, I think.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of someone at the Baltimore Late Late Summer Gathering, 9/14/13. Pours a clear copper color with a medium sized fizzy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of doughy caramel malts, herbal hops, oxidation notes. The taste is spicy, herbal hops, a bit of raisin, toffee malts. Medium bodied, bought recently but it seems maybe a bit old?

bottle - Despite a gentle pour down the side of the glass, this beer immediately foamed up into a massive head and had to be poured a little bit at a time with long breaks to let it settle. The aroma was of mild citrus hops and less than mild cardboard. The flavor was similar with cardboard and stale hops. Bad bottle? Too old? Whatever it is, this is not a good beer.

Slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a nice, dense tan head that leaves a pretty lace. Aroma of fresh pineapple and citrus hops, some light sugars from fruit and a nice pungent soapy malt scent. Medium-bodied; Assertive malty flavour with caramel and some fruit following soon afterwards. Aftertaste shows some lightly hoppy notes with more full-bodied malt coming through and a touch of sweetness too. Overall, a nice IPA with more of a malty note than most, but still a good hop balance - definitely worth trying if you can find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Siciliano’s in Grand Rapids, Michigan on 06-November-2010 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 14-April-2011.

Bottle. Deep fiery orange-copper body, thin beige head. Floral, somewhat medicinal nose with toasty, caramely malts. Medicinal body with bitter, herbal hops and a caramely, bready malt backbone, finishing bitter. Not bad, but nothing stands out, and the competition of bottled IPAs is fierce.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazed orange amber with an off-white head. Grapefruit hop aroma with some berry, pine, and some toasty biscuit. Flavor leads with pine, along with grapefruit and peppery hop flavors, touches of honey, and a toasted biscuit malt base. Nice dry, bitter finish. Not bad.
