Bottle shared during the satellite Travlr 10K tasting at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours rich brown with a frothy, tan head. Rich brown bread and chocolate in the aroma. Medium sweet flavor with subtle roast character, toasted brown bread, pleasant cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and a lightly creamy mouthfeel. Sweet finish with mellow ripening berries and milk chocolate. Nice enough.

Bottle thanks to Wingmanwillis, shared at the satellite 10K tasting CBC Clerko, 19/08/14. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a moderate tan covering that dissipates to spotting and edgework. Nose is roasted malts, cocoa rub, earthy, brown bread, dark toffee. Taste comprises chocolate, fruit loaf, tangy dark fruits, light roast, chocolate cake. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with roasted tones. Ok porter.

Bottle big thanks to Dave! It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty brown sugar, wood, roasted malt, coffee and dirt. The taste is toasty, earth, coffee, burnt fruit cake, caramel, espresso, wood and light alcohol with a bitter, roasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Solid.

Pours dark brown with a lasting head.Nose shows roasted malt, roasted coffee and biscuity rye.Very similar flavours, but with rich roasty characters throughout. More coffee notes too.Carbonation seems a bit high, could be lowered a bit.

Bottle. Pretty much black with a beige head that laces well and never disappears. Earthy aroma with bread crusts, spiced chocolate, coffee, hazelnuts. Silky mouthfeel, medium-bodied. Not very sweet at all, with overdone breadcrusts, coffee, nuts, chocolate, grass. A fair bit of bitterness that lingers with spicy rye notes at the very dry end. Started around 11C and really grew on me as it warmed. Complex, original, very well balanced. Cue Etta James. [3.9]Overt rye spiciness fading a bit. Can’t say I mind. Very fine drop indeed.
