*Old rating, best before 03.2013. Süßlich-malziges Bier. Etwas dickflüssig, intensiv-malzig, leicht alkoholisch. Moderat herb, nett. Das Bild auf dem Etikett hat mehr als das Bier.

The third Forestinne, since 2009, with yellowish white, creamy head and peachy orange colour, near to amber, misty. Aroma a strongly perfumed spiciness, pine needles and resin, lavender soap, ladies’ perfume, melon ’jenever’, honey, coriander, apricot, unripe pear. Rather neutral onset especially compared with the over-abundant aroma, dry maltiness with fruity and spicy accents, bit thin mouthfeel, floral hops in the finish but not really bitter.

Fresh and fruity Belgian blond beer. Sweetish, mildly hoppy and fruity. Average, but nice.

Deep hazy amber coloured body with an orange, peach and copper glow and a thin, half centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of yeast, curacao, white pepper, a hint of aniseed, flowers and quite a bit of alcohol (seems more than 7,5%). Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a lot of spice flavours up front showing a good grassy and herbal note with some curacao and even fresh oranges in the mix, coupled with some good yeast and the right amount of sweetness. Aftertaste shows a nice complexity with sweet, savoury, fresh and herbal notes all coming out, and ending well - right seemingly at the 7,5% abv. Overall, a nice belgie - but I’d classify this as a Belgian Ale not Strong, at all - still great to sample and well worth fitting this in your suitcase if returning home! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Mania in Bruxelles, Belgium on 30-June-2012 for €2,25 sampled at home in Washington on 11-September-2013, two blocks from the Pentagon - Always Remember.

23/IV/13 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Akke's after work BBQ - BB: XII/2014 (2013-384)

Clear deep orange beer, irregular off-white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, honey, orange peel, orange blossom, bit soapy, oxidised, sherry notes. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: smoky, really smoky. How come I am the only one who gets smoke in this beer? New batch? Wrong label? Also some citrus, bit artificial, sweet, lemony, some honey, green apples, sour. Aftertaste: pretty bitter, sour, bit dirty, lemony, vinegar touch., honey and orange peel. Is it infected? Tastes as if the whole batch has been oxidised during fermentation or lagering. Not a fan anyway.

Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Light crisp palate, dry. Spices - sweetish ginger, white pepper. Trace of citrus. Floral note. Dry and creamy pale malt. Dry finish. Okay.
