Our hefeweizen is a nod to the traditional style and features Maine malts from Buck Farms in Mapleton and classic German Hefeweizen yeast. Aromatic and refreshing, Sebago Hefeweizen is a great way to ease into summer.

Whatever this is, this is the 4.9% alcohol hefe. Pours vloudy yellow with white head. Aroma is light banana and spice. Lightly sweet and spicy. Kind of meh.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a weizen glass and a pint glass at separate times.
The only difference is the larger head in the weizen.
The appearance was a cloudy golden yellow with tinges of orange operating around the edges of the beer.
The smell had a sour blend of banana and clove. For all of the times I’ve had this, I always want to say that there is something different about the banana in this one, like it’s fake or something.
The taste was mainly tart through the banana and clove.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was semi - sharp.
Overall, in my opinion, this is not a very good hefeweizen to me at all.

22.06.2013, tap @ Sebago Brewing Portland:
Small shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, wheat, yeast, dried fruits, banana, hay, citrus peel. Taste is slightly fresh, wheat, citrus, hay, yeast, some dried fruits and grass. Little bitterness. Fair enough, refreshing.

Location: Draft at Cornerstone (Ogunquit), 7/9/13
Aroma: The nose is wheat, orange, lemon, yeast, clove/spice, and some banana
Appearance: This one pours a hazy golden-orange color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet, pretty much on style, with some yeast and spice flavors
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has average carbonation, and a pretty decent feel
Overall Impression: This one was a fine hefe. It is on-style and decent, though it is not a special beer.

Bottle at home in NH, shared with and thanks to Charlie. Pours clear, yellow-gold with a small, white head. Mild wheat nose. Light sweet flavor, kinda bland, some dough and yeast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. OK finish, some subtle fruits, yeast and wheat. Very average overall, perhaps slightly below. Not bad to drink, though.

12 oz bottle pored into a WEISSE glass. Thick head that diminished rather quickly. Left a small amount of lacing as I drank. The color is a light yellow, hazy. The smell is a bit yeasty, with a hint of citrus hops, wet grass and some earthy tones. The taste is fruity, with some citrus hop flavor. This beer is a bit crisp, and is quite light and refreshing. However, there was a lot of carbonation. After I drank one, I found I wanted another. A good job from this brewer. I will buy this beer again.

On tap at Sebago Portland , ME location. Pours out a hazy golden/straw topped with a big white head. Aroma was nice lots of banana notes, spice, and belg yeast. Taste was much as the aroma with the bananas and spice leading the way. A good example of a German Hef.

Draught at the brewpub. OK clove aroma. Cloudy yellow orange colour. Very small white head. The flavour is sweet with an OK banana note. Bready bitterness in the finish. Good for style.

Pours hazy gold into a stang. Bright white micro head quickly subsides to skim rim.I don’t know if I got a bad batch or if they meant to make it taste like this, but it’s great. Sour, tart and lemony. Lasting sour lemon finish. Tastes like a Festina lemon.
