Biscuit malt and grass aroma. Golden yellow with nice white head. Lightly sweet lemon, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter grass flavor. Okay body - metallic aftertaste.

12 oz. can. Thanks Ashley! Pours a hazy gold color with a small off-white head and poor retention. Zero lacing. Smells like a pale lager to me. Very strange taste. Tastes like a mix of pale malts and fruit esters, with a harsh, acidic finish. Not a good mix. Thin, watery body. Very crisp mouthfeel. Not bitter.

Hazy pale golden coloured body with a thin, slightly soapy two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of pale malt, a touch of cardboard and the smallest hit of sour grapes, but a relatively mild aroma throughout. Light-bodied; Strong pale malt flavour with a light citrus flavour and a hint of coriander seed freshness to couple with the light grass and hay at the end. Aftertaste shows a very mild and refreshing kolsch with some light grassy and herbal overtones and a good airy sour finish at the end. Overall, a nice beer to sample on draught and great for the summer here in Washington! I sampled this pint on draught at Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tyson’s Corner), Virginia on 27-May-2014 for US$3.00 a pint.

Why is this a Zwickel? Seems like a Kolsch, and a very good one at that. Nice barley profile. Finishes a little bitter, and crisp. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Very easy drinking. Tap at Glen’s Garden Market.
