Our take on a kölsch style ale that is soft on the palate with delicate malt flavor. Balanced with a touch of wheat and honey notes. Dry and winelike with a flowery hop finish.

Tap at COAST. It pours pale yellow with a small white head. The nose is dough, grass, light spice, natural yoghurt and floral notes. The taste is crisp, grassy, dough, floral and earth with a set finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Light, crisp and refreshing stuff. Very drinkable. Decent.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange, 12/10/12
Aroma: This one has a nose of sweet malts, straw, and some grassy hops
Appearance: This beer pours a hazy golden color with a white head and some spotty lace
Flavor: It has a medium sweet flavor to it, with some straw, light hops, and a little fruit
Palate: This beer has a light-medium body, a fairly fizzy carbonation, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: Interesting example, but overall this was not a favorite for me. I thought there were some good components, but there were also some flaws, and the flaws stuck out a bit much for me to go any higher then this.

Bottle picked up by my lovely wife: Poured a hazy straw color with a frothy foam white head. Aroma is full on grains with hint of citrus or honey. Taste is bitter with honey up front leaves way to harvest wheat and light malt. Very refreshing beer.

Growler shared by BrewEngineer at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 7/16/11. Pours a hazy golden color with a large creamy offwhite head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grainy malts and a grassy finish. The taste is pale grainy malts, a sweet malty note and a grassy finish. Medium bodied. Fairly bitter. Nicely balanced. World class kolsch.

Pours a pale straw gold with a large, lace-leaving head, like a dictionary definition of what Beer should look like. Smells of a freshly filled grain bin, with a yeasty backbone and a tiny bit of corn. Tastes like a light beer made by someone who actually gives a damn, but that statement simplifies things greatly. The bubbly, bright texture keeps things moving quickly across your palate, while the bitter-but-soothing fade makes sure any overly sweet grainy notes are given a crucial balance. Gets bonus points because I’m a homer and I’m not really a huge Kolsch fan. But this beer might make me one. (5/2/09)

bottle pours hazy light yellow with a medium white head. Soft floral nose, pale grassy malts. Wonderful grassy flavor with clean floral and herbal hop finish. Seems I like this more than most.
