The IPA was fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops! Red Racer IPA has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the brewmaster’s choice.

Cans are cool. Very citrus and pine filled with some floral notes, too. Quite clean and refreshing. Has a nice bitterness through to the finish. Went great with my Chinese food.

Can at DC local tasting. Medium golden color, small white head that rapidly disappears. Aroma of grass. Taste has moderate bitterness, dry finish. Not very complex or interesting.

12oz can pours a transparent amber with a frothy, white head. Nose is musty, hops, pine cones, orange rind. Flavor is malty, oranges, pine, grapefruit, caramel, a little metallic. Finish is bitter and lightly sweet.

Can. Pine and passionfruit dominate flavour and aroma. Amber, fine carbonation, lacing head. Flowery sweetness which stops at the right time, good balance. Medium body, fine sparkly mouthfeel. Very nice - thanks Daniel!

Pours bright gold into a shaker. White head quickly subsides to hug rim. Pine and resin aromas. Crisp with sweet caramel upfront turning to a tight resin finish.

Can: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of hops is pretty intense with bitter and citrus notes clearly identified. Taste is a great mix between some citrus and bitter hops with a good caramel malt backbone. Body is a bit thin for style with good carbonation. Well done and would stand well within some of the staple of the style.

New rating (March 2022): This is terrible now. Sweet, syrupy with a poor hop profile. It's sad. This beer helped get me into IPAs. Nowadays it's a pathetic beer that demonstrates how Central City has long lost its way. Bad. 5 3 5 2 10 Very old rating from 2012: On tap at the Alibi Room - pours an amber/gold colour. Aroma is extremely hoppy, with prominent floral notes and not much malt backing - the florla nose is unique, unlike any other IPA I've had. Flavour is much the same, with huge floral hops lingering. When fresh, and especially on tap, this is one of the best (non-Imperial) IPAs out there and likely the best in BC along with Fat Tug. 9 4 9 4 16

taste is solid with some ripe mango, a reserved pine presence and a lip smacking finish.

Light amber golden color, grapefruity, piney nose. Hops are very well defined. Big hop start, lacking a bit of backbone with just a touch of caramel. Lingering bitter citrusy finish with a touch of caramel. Fairly good, but not balanced enough for my liking.

33cl can. Thanks Stefan. Pours a clear copper with a small creamy white head. Nose is sweet of malts and hops. Buiscuit malty and fruity and floral hops. Palate is sticky and smooth. Ends dry with a somewhat undefinable hay and vegetable feel. A bit less sweetness would have been nice.
