The IPA was fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops! Red Racer IPA has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the brewmaster’s choice.

12 ounce can. Pours a clear dark copper color with a large sticky white head. A sweet nose of oranges, some light lemon. A really nice flavor of oranges, sweet hoppy citrus all through, light bitterness. Very clean. Good. Actually very good.

Can (kindly donated by Jonas!!!):Deep golden with a chestnut-like sheen and a small stable off-white head, solid dry piney nose with pineapples and grapefruits; solid bitter-sweet flavour, soft and medium bodied; dry tart hoppy (all hoppy aromas You can imagine...) finish, hops sticking to the palate, with a delicate dark-malty to cough-syrupy counterpart. Wow, what a can...

From my dear Canadian brother: Pours a darkish colour for an IPA with a whitish head. Aroma is really fruity: citrus, pineapple, along with some other plant matter like flowers and pines. Taste is really hop forward. Tastes like a West Coast IPA. Malt backbone gives sufficient balance. My only problem with this beer is that I got some can notes from this. In every other respect, it was an excellent IPA.

25/VI/2012 - 355ml can @ home - BB: n/a (damn Americans, seriously) (2012-651) Thanks to SecretSanta for the can!
Little cloudy bright orange beer, big creamy off-white head, stable, little adhesive. Some small sediment floating around, very high viscosity on pouring. Aroma: very fruity, pineapple, passion fruits, bit piny, sweet mango. MF: good lively carbon, medium to full body. Taste: little sweet in the start, pretty fruity, lots of citrus, touch of grapefruit, piny bitterness. Less fruity than expected from the aroma. Aftertaste: lots of grapefruit, piny, sweet peaches, after a while the bitterness fades and the beer gets more fruity.

Purchased a single can of this at the LCBO. Not your average looking beer can design. Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy off-white head that has decent retention and lots of foamy lace. Fresh pine aromas with some sweetness, like oranges and caramel. Medium-bodied with some nice balance between a wet mouthfeel and some dry bitterness by the hop. Grapefruit taste with some light burnt wood, orange rind and pine needles. Don’t judge this brew by what the can looks like. This is a serious IPA that is not a hop bomb, but pretty close and is very well-balanced.

(355mL can from LCBO). Poured somewhat cool, a clear orange with a thin white head and no lacing. Aroma not particularly strong, disappointing (not fresh enough?). Some grapefruit, light pine, caramel malt and a bit of grain. Flavour much stronger, grapefruit, mango/peach, pine resin, mid-weight caramel malt body, light grain. Quite rich and juicy tasting to start, somewhat sweet but with solid bitter core. Finishes with pine hop bitterness and a background of tree fruit, some lingering hop aftertaste. Body is nicely substantial for a 6.5% beer, carbonation fairly light and soft for the style. A good IPA in the mouth, a disappointing one on the nose.

A hazed orange amber IPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, superb pungent floral hops, meaty, with notes of menthol, and biscuit malt. In mouth, a smooth biscuit malt with floral and grassy hops, resinous, pink grapefruits, some wild funk, beautiful and tasty. Can from LCBO, about 6 months old.

Can from Malt & Vine. Pours amber with a 3 finger off-white creamy/bubbly head. Lots of grapefruit in the aroma with pine and malt notes. Med+ body. Flavor is very grapefruit, but the resin is present, and the malt doesn’t really show much until the finish. Wonderfully tasty and bitter.
