Our huge stout was aged in Compass Box great King Street barrels for 221 days before bottling.
Full bodied, crashing roasty malt flavours are tempered by a rich chocolate character, balanced with light smoke and an extra layer of orange oil complexity.

the nose has some earthiness, chocolate, dark berries and mild whiskey. Thick tan head on a black body. Roasted caramel malt comes out early, followed by dark berries and dark fruit, a touch of vanilla and butter, bourbon, oak and a touch of orange. An underlying bitterness counterbalances the sweet and rich tastes. Coffee emerges late to add to the dance. This beer has great depth and richness. It is velvety, blended and smooth. Ridiculously tasty.

Well stored bottle @ company tasting. Dark brown body under a fast disappearing beige head. Strong but smooth aroma of dark malt, whisky, dark chocolate and a light hint of smoke. Taste is smooth, sweet dark roasted malt, caramel, oak, dry fruit and balanced bitterness. Hint of bonfire. Fine balanced body long lasting, warming aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Six years old. Has a dark brown to black colour with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice dark chocolate, coffee beans, leather, oak and ash. Flavour of ash, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, leather, some whisky and warming alcohol in the end. Has a soft and silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. Roasted and incredibly well-balanced.

Bottle, shared round ours with Dan and Mark. Cheers Dan. This took me by surprise. Loads of dark chocolate and vanilla. Smooth as they come. Big hitter but disappeared in minutes.

Bottle courtesy of Mortlach, thanks. In Rome @Luppolo Station. Dark coffee bean, ivory lacing. Nose is vanilla and Smokey, wood, olive a bit. Mouth: a bit sugary, over sweeter.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and yeasty spicy aroma, notes of marmite, chocolate, smoky and peaty BA ovetones. Taste is sweet, chocolately dark and caramel malty, notes of chocolate, dark caramel, treacle, minimally peaty, smoky BA overtones, a minimally leathery touch as well, warming alcoholic finish. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Astonishing drinkability, well adjusted BA flavours.
