aahhh, what a glorious beer. Dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of smoke. The taste is also of smoke and conjures up memories of well smoked kielbasa. Palate is full and crisp with soft carbonation. This beer, in my eyes, is the standard of the rauchbier style against which all others are judged. I like the Urbock amd Eiche a bit better.

500ml bottle and my first Rauchbier. Dark red, small white head. Big smoky aroma which dominates, hint of sweet malts. Taste is smoky which gives a certain savoury element but there is a sweetness to the malt which offsets this in part. A touch of coffee in the mix. Surprisingly easy to drink considering the aroma but I don't think this style is for me.

Color caoba intenso y brillante, ligeramente opaca. Genera una gran capa de espuma blanca de buena retención.
Aroma con un predominio de las notas ahumadas, algo de pan y cereal tostado.
En boca se siente la carbonatación media, de trago fácil a pesar del cuerpo medio/intenso. En el sabor las notas ahumadas tienen su protagonismo, pero muy bien integradas en la cerveza, sin eclipsar otros sabores, como el de la malta, con un contrapunto dulce muy interesante (miel y caramelo).

Fles geprobeerd op de Della Fonte Tasting bij Keukeman. Het is een helder roodbruin bier met een dun beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van rook en bacon. De smaak is rokerig, gebrande mout, bacon en wat koffie.
