Bottle split at the Jack is back tasting, thanks to Leighton, 06/03/14. Hazed yellow/orange with moderate off white spotting atop the glass. Nose is a big acid blast, honey, vinegar, old curtains, earwax smeared on a train window to warm in the sunlight, citric, bitter fruit. Taste comprises big acidic vibes, Sarsons vinegar, honey tang, more acid, bitter citrics. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte acidic rush in the close. This ain’t no Lambaek wants blood orange, but it ain’t pretty - pretty high on the throat scrapes! Presumably a rogue bottle and LKS - you’ll do anything for £7.50 !

Jack is back tasting at Bruce’s. Thanks to Leighton. Cloudy gold beer, residual white head. Dry airy palate. Acid dominates, some floral lemongrass is discernable but the level of acidity is physically painful on the burning swallow. Light dry finish. Drain pour, or if you the Legend that is Leighton, a half bottle chug!

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the brewery. Pours pale, hazy yellow with a foamy white head. The nose has tangy lemon. Light sweet flavor and heavily acidic, some tart lemons, grass. Light bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Burning acidic finish, more lemons, notes of plastic. A bit harsh and aggressive. I still managed to down a half bottle.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours cloudy gold with a small white head. The nose is fresh, barnyard, lemon peel, lemongrass, lemon sherbets, vinegar and candy. The taste is harsh, massive acidity, straight lemon juice, sherbet, vinegar, wood and more acid. Intense lemony acid action. Damn it burns..... Aggressive stuff!

Big ole bottle pours with an opaque papery sort of pale gold body that supports a near white head. The aroma, at first, had an intriguing sliced salty salami deli meat nuance to it. As it sat for a bit the salami note drifted away. I was left with tart lemon like fruitiness, some grainy malts, breadiness, a grain or two of salt and some raspberry like notes. The taste offers up tart lemon drop candy rolling into a thin yet pleasing degree of funkiness mixed with grainy bread notes. Wow. I like this.

Night of the Funk 2012. This one was a hoppier version, with a decent grass aroma and moderate funk throughout.

Pours hazy gold into a bowl. Head quickly dissipates to nothing. Sweet honey and ginger aromas. Sharp with tart summer fruit and sweet honey upfront turning to hay and ginger in the lasting lactic finish.

A hazed blonde weisse with a thin white head. In aroma, smooth lactic malt with seltzer, lightly pungent, nice. In mouth, a smooth sour weisse with light gueuze notes, oily mouthfeel, very good. Tasted at Drink Craft Beer Summerfest Fest, July 14 2012.
