750 bottle traded to me by Willrunforbeer, bottle date of 9-30-3013. Thanks for the chance. No head on a hazy, gold/ yellow color. Aroma is light lactic acid, tart lemons, ginger root and musty basement yeast hints.

Tart lemon and musty yeast are dominant in the flavor. The mouthfeel is mellow with a low carbonation level. Lactic acid is also very mild with a slightly tart aftertaste. I’m glad the acid and ginger has mellowed with time. Wow, after two years this held up well and is rather highly drinkable.

Poured from a bottle dated 08/22/14. Aroma is dominated by the adjuncts. Lots of lemongrass and lighter ginger notes. Lemongrass adds nice citrus notes including lime. Medium light acidity and faint wheat. Pours a Slightly cloudy, pale yellow gold with a medium sized, medium thick, white head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly acidic with a strong citrus note including lots of orange, lemon and lime. Medium light lemongrass notes with a light ginger character. Low wheat notes and faint bitterness. Slight sweetness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty tasty beer but you have to like lemongrass. Lots of citrus and the ginger notes are light and very much in the background. A bit too acidic. Better than I was expecting and I am liking these Night Shift Berliners more than I expected.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is ginger, funk, dough, lemon zest. Thin mouth, tart, ginger, lemon, crisp, crushable, very nice.

Bottle - thanks Brian! Pours hazy pale golden, large creamy white head, dissipates fairly quickly leaving not much really. Aroma is sour mash, wheat, lemon and ginger. Flavor is medium plus tart, lemon and ginger. Light body, high carbonation, almost a bit salty. Refreshing.

Draught at the brewery, February 2015
Mostly clear, brilliant golden with some burnished copper tints and a small white head with low retention.
Very acidic nose has challenging lacto notes, touches of oakiness and a moderate ginger presence. Very sniffable and quite strong with no alcohol or other flaws peaking through.
Damned sour up front! Phew, kind of takes you by surprise. But it’s delicious and melds both lactic and brett notes; very barrel-derived. As the flavors wash over the palate, the lemongrass emerges more prominently than the ginger. It’s interesting and well-done, I’m just not sure how much I enjoy lemongrass in a full-on sour beer (this is much, much more of a sour/wood-derived wild ale than it is a classic berliner). The carbonation is spot-on, helping to keep the beer light and drinkable, while no wateriness or thinning occurs on the finish. Excellent, though I wish it was either lacking the lemongrass or had a brighter, lighter fruit note to it.

750ml bottle pours a hazy gold with some thin, white head. Nose has a lot of hibiscus, peppercorn, ginger, lime... but honestly quite a bit of butyric acid in the form of a vomit like character. Flavor has a lot more butyric acid, real bile character, peppercorn, heavy lime, blood orange. Acetic finish.
