Bottle at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell. Pours pitch and thick black with a thin shortlasting nutty head. Aromas of whisky, nuts, vanilla, coffee, roast and some dark chocolate. Taste is very whisky up front, dark sweet fruits, roast. Whisky stays all the way through. Slightly too much to my taste.

Bottle courtesy of and shared with Tderoeck. From the depth of Tim’s secret stash - BB 31/09/2014.

Taste: bit sourish, sweet, soft roast, caramel, chocolate, alcohol. Aftertaste: little bitter, roasted, bit sour, charcoal, some chocolate.

Bottle @ Bishops Arms Savoy, Malmö. Black with a lasting light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, wood, light woody sour and bourbon. Flavor is quite sweet, rather bitter and light acidic. Dry, rather bitter and light acidic finish with a little warming alcohol. I don’t know whether the wild touch was on purpose or not, but it worked well. 190815

Pours opaque black, nice and thick. Small head develops but relatively calm. The nose shows some smoke and hints of wood from the barrel. The palate is lightly carbonated but mostly thick and extremely smooth. A lot of smoky flavor but also a great sweetness that appears very reminiscent of adzuki red beans. Reminds a lot less of its original breakfast stout identity unlike the Jim Beam Barrel aged Broken Dream. But stands on its own differing from the others.

Pitch black and a fizzy beige head. Lots of whisky barrel in the aroma, vanilla, oakiness, roasty, dark chocolate. Taste is big whisky, rich, smooth, silky, quite full-bodied, boozy. Very nice.

Bottle at the "couldn’t be arsed to do anything else on a Wednesday tasting @ ABC Beers" via Cotteridge Wines. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin round light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, over-ripe red fruit, light molasses. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a moderate to light smooth, light alcohol, light molasses palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lighter than I expected.
