Wineglass showing pitch black with no head.
The nose shows moderately intense notes of roasted malt and light coffee.
The palate is lightly carbonated and oily slick. Hints of sweetness with a moderate roasted malt palate with light notes of raisins and oak. Strong bitterness on the finish

Ok, #1, I LOVE aged stouts. I"m assuming this was a bourbon barrel, cause this had huge vanilla notes, and i’m a sucker for that. Super thick, and jet black. Pours like old motor oil. Nose is vanilla, fudge, chocolate, coffee, smoke. flavour is big on the vanilla again, and lots of chocolate and smoke. mouthfeel i find it what puts this apart from the others. This beer is super thick, and oil, and creamy, i love it! It’s like a meal. my new favorite stout!

A 2012 bottle, stored properly and left to breathe for half hour. An opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Smooth and slightly soft palate. Rich soft dark creamy malts. Mellow coffee. Good dark chocolate covered Malteasers. Modest tangy fruits. Smooth finish leaves a soft coffee linger. One of the best straight Impies I've had in quite some time.
smooth!

Bottle, vintage 2014, 12.9% ABV (thanks Brandon). Pours black with brown head. Aroma is massive roast, malt, fruits, coffee, slight wheatiness. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, malt, coffee, some fruits, some oxidation. Finish has roast and some booze, but feels very smooth. Overall: great brew.

Bottle, 2014 vintage, thanks to blowofftube. Pours inky black, medium brown head, lasting and lacing well. Aroma is pretty far in the molasses end of things, some cocoa and a hint of anise and tobacco, but mostly molasses. Flavor does have some coffee notes, but mostly molasses once again. Pretty sweet, medium bitter. Rich and creamy full bodied beer. Solid.
