Subtle amounts of malts and hops make for a clean and crisp ale.
This American Pale Ale has a subtle malty character with noticeable hop flavor and aroma. Three classic American hop varieties add complexity to this incredibly drinkable beer. At the end of every glass, you will discover how this pale ale got its name.

Bottle, best before 1/12/2006, consumed on 12/10/05. Pours a copper-amber, clear. Mostly diminishing (to ring) white head is foamy. No lacing. Aroma is lightly citric hops, some faint perfuminess on the very end. Light white-dough biscuits and other than that, no malt or yeast apparency in the nose. Flavor is citric hopped, fruity (dry orange and lemon zest) and very very dry overall. Most basic of light pale malts add barely any sweetness. Low bitterness. Lively carbonation, rather watery. Very standard, generic example, though even a bit too dry and papery. Light dirtiness on end as well. I get the feeling the Two Brothers beers we are getting in Massachusetts are not in top shape.

Bottled. Nut brown, not much head. Cranberries in aroma. At first strawberries in flavour, then cranberries and hints of caramel and hops and some weak notes of roast.

Bottled. Nut brown near no head. Strong lychee hop aroma. Dry, crisp and light bodied. Heavily hoppy with lingering bitter finish. Reminds me of a really dry German style pilsener but made with American hops. A nice little beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pleasing ale smell with nice bitter hops at the pour. In the glass, it has a thin head and a slightly hazy "new penny" copper color. Taste is fine and to style; stacks up to a Sierra Nevadawith its slightly fruity esters and not-too-sweet malts. Northwestern style hops that turn sharp as your drink it, piney and resiny. The only drawback is that it’s kind of gassy. It seems to want to be a medium beer in a world of massively hopped monsters.

Light amber colour. Sour fruit aroma (grapefruit). A little unbalanced towards bitterness, slightly wet finish. Not much else going on.

Light amber. Large dry-hop aroma...seems like Fuggles but I've been wrong about those hops before. Insipid, wet palate. Touch of mineral. Where'd my beer go?

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Amber with a thin white head. Decent hops aroma. Not really much hops bite, especially compared to their IPA. If you are going to have a cool name like "The Bitter End", back it up!
