750ml bottle at The Sovereign in DC. Poured a clear orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was very very very subtle Orange. Very mild funky pepper yeast. Flavor was about the same, light orange, some peppery notes. Okay.

2017 bottle.

It pours a cloudy orange with heaps of foam and outstanding lacing.

Smells of Brett, bitter hops, coriander, orange zest with a mild hint of tartness.

Orange zest brings a bit of bitterness and light tartness, Brett character aboot mid palate and drives through the rather dry finish. Really impressive flavours.

Pretty light bodied with mild carbonation.

This brewery nailed the style, imho.

Draft glass at Brasserie St Somewhere, thanks a lot Bob. Love the label taken straibght out of the FL archives.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2015 vintage bottling on the cork. Pours slightly hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy oranges, lemon, orange peel, peach, melon, pear, apple, peppercorn, light banana/clove, wheat, biscuit dough, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, oranges/peels, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy oranges, lemon, orange peel, peach, melon, pear, apple, peppercorn, light banana/clove, wheat, biscuit dough, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; light herbal/grassy/citrus peel bitterness, and wheat/fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of oranges, lemon, orange peel, peach, melon, pear, apple, peppercorn, light banana/clove, wheat, biscuit dough, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, light musty funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, oranges/peels, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/spiciness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an excellent fruited saison. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, oranges/peels, and pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Very flavorful for the ABV. Well rounded saison yeast complexity, with balanced oranges/peels and pils/wheat malts. Not a whole lot of brett, but solid presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Mild citrus character, juicy orange grapefruit character from the hops, soft sweet fruity malt in the base, somewhat comparable to the dry hopped saison dupont I had earlier. Overally pretty nice.

Poured up on tap at Barley Mow with clear gold body supporting a fairly bright white head of foam. The aroma is herbal, vinegar, a touch funky and then spicy with yeastiness at the end of the draw. Man! The taste has lots going on and it all works pretty well too. There’s Saison like spiciness mixing with a peppery note and then heading into some herbal green leaf like earthiness and tartness (lemon grass maybe). Behind all of that are notes of funk, faint vinegar and body sweat. Bob! Nice even refreshing brew.

Draught, Abraxas:  very pale and cloudy w lots of head.  Aroma is floral, yeasty and full of pedio.  Dry, bitter w light hoppy dryness. Fairly clean on the palate and the pedio burned off the nose a bit. Decent saison, the rusticity makes it authentic and the dryness makes it refreshing...if not for a day in the fields then at least for a Miami afternoon.
